My Story

Creating 'Nothing to Wine About'

I attended Sonoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.  I have always been passionate about photography, and fell in love with the incredible beauty of the wineries in the area.  As social media became popular during my college years, I was inspired to start my own Instagram account and showcase the wineries.  Thus, I started “Nothing to Wine About”.

 

I challenged myself to visit and photograph 50 wineries in Sonoma County, meet and interview the winemakers and owners, and learn details about each individual business.  My Instagram would post fun facts, unique stories, and details about upcoming events.  

 

I found myself continuously seeking out new wineries to experience, posting frequently and responding to comments as my followers increased.  This expanded to tagging photos, utilizing Instagram ads, and networking with local influencers to develop photo opportunities and collaborate.  It was exciting to see my posts being reposted and my account being tagged in pictures on other accounts.  


Throughout this process I recognized how valuable it was to meet the winemakers, owners, and influencers, as well as photograph the many beautiful locations, and best of all to gain a following of my passion.

After graduating from Sonoma State University in 2019, I moved to Southern California. With experience as a Tasting Room Associate in Sonoma, I focused on wineries where I could utilize my knowledge and also expand into marketing. After I saw Cordiano’s incredible view, selection of Italian wines, and outstanding Italian meals, I decided they were the perfect opportunity, as they did not have a social media presence. I was hired on the spot and, shortly after, I pointed out their potential sales if they allowed me to begin a marketing department.

 

I have been managing their marketing since 2019 which includes their Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, brochures, business cards, influencers, and local media outlets. 

My social network efforts include:

  • Creating & managing an organized schedule to maintain presence on Facebook, Instagram, & Tiktok.

  • Writing, editing & publishing content.

  • Responding to direct messages, emails & engaging with customer comments & tagged photos

  • Collaborating with local Instagram influencers, customers, musicians, athletes, companies & press to promote the company.

  • Periodically analyzing analytics & reviews to determine key audiences or segments. 

  • Providing creative, new directions & marketing campaigns. 

  • Capturing & editing photos & videos.

  • Monitoring the website & making suggestions for enhancements.

  • Utilizing Canva to create visual designs for flyers, signage, stickers & brochures. 

Over the past year I have increased the followers at Cordiano by 38%! Cordiano has also been featured on the news and on local podcasts, and by local influencers multiple times resulting in increased sales and positive reviews. 

I have also successfully taken on additional social media projects for other local wineries and musicians to assist with their brand development. My passion is marketing and my desire to learn new skills in this field are not limited only to my everyday work, I also proactively keep up with the latest trends in my free time.

I am creative, hard working, and always willing to try or learn something new.
